Busy on WIPFLI, a few things going on, not a lot of time to document them all - 2009-09-03 (Thursday) 18:00 - Entry 1107 - TOGoS's Journal

We had a house party this past weekend. Guests came in 2 waves, with the neighborhood people coming early and the coworkers coming late. We made customized cheeze pizzas, which people all said were pretty good.

I've been at work working a lot, since there are big projects for both of our 2 clients that I'm supposed to be spending all my time on.

I went to La Crosse with Pitt a couple days this week. It seems like during the past month and a half I've gone there on average once every 3 weeks. This time I sat in a conference room with the BDS guys the whole time. Pitt and I listened to Year Zero on the way back.

My tax rebate for the first-time homebuyer's credit came in the mail and I took it to the bank today and put it towards paying off my mortgage loan after talking to a loan guy downstairs to figure out why my statement seemed all goofed up (the online account detail page doesn't show interest or tax escrow payments).

YC and I have watched a few movies over the past few weeks. Cold Mountain was good. The Garden State was nice, too. Space Cowboys was goofy but alright. Apparently there're some new sci-fi movies out lately that I'd like to see.

YC finally got her car back from the mechanic, so we can drive around, again. We're planning to go camping and visit the house on the rock this weekend. I finally had my bike gears and chain replaced so I can ride fast, even up hills.

I managed to find a few hours during about the past month to add some areas to the last level of Junko and call it 'complete'. That doesn't mean we're done, though. We need to test, and there are inevitably going to be some things we find that need more work.

I've also spent some of my biking to and from work time thinking about possibly reviving D5 and/or creating a new, similar engine. I could spend a lot of time trying to figure out how much I actually want to take from D5.2 and how much I would want to do from scratch. But I won't have time to work on anything like that for a while.

Before that, I want to be able to search my pictures based on tags that I can assign with PictureArchiver4. I'm planning to build this functionality into ContentCouch.

There are at least 3 bunches of dreams I've wanted to write down about but never got around to. I'll write down what I remember about them, here.

Last night I dreamt that I was obsessed with Donna Air. I met her and her boyfriend at a restaurant and his beard was coated in white goop that looked like it would be uncomfortable and that he eventually went to the bathroom to wash off.

I had moved into the basement of an older couple, and was testing out my sound system down there. I was trying to get it to sound loud to me without disturbing the people upstairs.

I went to a party where we had to sing My Country 'Tis of Thee, but I didn't know all the words so I was singing it kind of wrong, and Hillary Clinton, who was sitting at a table nearby, turned around and gave me an angry look, and then made me go down into a basement room with a bunch of misbehaving kids and a chalkboard. On the chalkboard there were a bunch of physics equations, with "E=MC2" written in bold and bordered. Then Barack Obama walked in and started talking to us about Einstein.

The night before last I was sleeping at the Hotel in La Crosse, and I dreamt that our kitty had stayed in a car parked in front of our house that someone was hot-boxing too long and died. It was very sad, and I was very happy when I woke up from that dream and realized that she was probably doing just fine. In the dream we lived at 319, and we had a lot of kitties, but none of them could replace Yoru.

The only thing I remember about the session before that was that it involved Barack Obama randomly showing up at my parents' house, and me not having anything useful to say to him or ask about.
