2014-01-06 - Entry 1340 - TOGoS's Journal

I went outside and it was a warm summer day with green leaves on the trees.
I knew that it was still the middle of winter, so I must be dreaming.
But I decided to just run with it.
I talked to my western neighbor, who was a balding middle-aged man.
He seemed happy to have someone to talk to.
An airplane with large extrusions on its underside (some new kind of landing gear, I figured)
flew very low over his house, He talked about that, too.
He showed me his back porch and his back door. There was a spider on it. It wasn't that
big and/or scary but I pretended to think that I was really scared of it and freaked out.

There was a family going to Home Depot to build something. Home Depot
had this concrete room off on one side that people could rent out to
do projects in, but there was this fork lift parked in front of it
that was always moving the door up and down so that you had to time
your step just right to get into the room.

And if you timed it wrong, you might step into a totally different room underneath the first one.
That room had no floor, so stepping into that dropped you into an apparently bottomless pit.
I experienced this from a first-person perspective.

Back with the family in the upper room, they were talking about the
pit figuring that their friend who they'd been expecting had fallen into it.
They said that if you fell in you'd somehow be put back outside but you'd lose all your memories.
After a bit of this talk the dad realized that the rest of his family had fallen in and had come back,
and to rejoin them he decided to electrocute himself by wiring up a bunch of batteries from old
calculators and licking the terminals. The family helped him set this up.

I went on an expedition with some friends.
RS was riding with me and there was another car behind us.
She tried to call some hotline to talk about some problem with some friend of hers,
and I happened to be on call to answer it, which I did, even though I was sitting right next to her.
I didn't figure that out until the call had ended, and I wasn't sure if she knew at all.

Our destination was a grocery store where the refrigeration system had just stopped working,
so they were giving away all their perishable food to whoever wandered in to take it.
I was finding some goodies in the back, like ice cream and these cold fruity blobs and stuff.
