Dreams of kayaking and at the water park too late; retrospection - 2016-09-01 - Entry 1433 - TOGoS's Journal

A few nights ago (either Sunday or Monday morning probably) I dreamt about being on some kayaking trip with the outing club. It was raining on us on this trip. At one point after we had returned and everyone was sufficiently miserable to prove that it'd been a good trip, I was re-experiencing a point near the beginning of the trip where I was in my kayak up on top of a cliff next to the river. This geographic feature was similar to the cliffs in the dream about camping with Sara. I'm not sure why I was way up there in my kayak. Maybe that was a camping spot, or maybe I was just up there to try to get a look around.

Just before waking up this morning I dreamt that Becky and I went to some water park, probably Mt Olympus, on its last day of the season. And we showed up late in the day, too, so a lot of people were on their way out and a lot of rides were closing. All we really wanted was to hang out in the wave pool, and we found one near the entrance with nobody else in it. No lifeguard, either. Trying to enter was a little tricky because the waves were splashing over the edge with enough force to push you back out, and the wall over which we had to climb kept getting taller and more complex. Of course everything was wet and slippery so handholds were not so great.

Becky and I actually did go to Hurricane Harbor on their last day of the season on August 16, 2015, a little over a year ago. Just now I was looking at pictures of the past year trying to find that date. On the one hand, 2015 had a lot of good adventures. On the other, it doesn't seem like that was a full year ago. And 2016 feels pretty tame in comparison, so far. This being tired so much has not helped. Here's hoping for more adventures and less being tired in the future.

Also since last entry, I did make some progress on the to-do list.
