white cube universe, war game with real weapons, fast sunset dreams, reinstalled Windows and Linux - 2002-06-28 - Entry 184 - TOGoS's Journal

dreams:

In one dream, we were inside a computer game or something. There were these 3 different cars you could drive, and we thought it was really funny when one of them got stuck on top of a hill.

We devided into two groups and we were going to have a war. People were fighting with pitch forks and swords and all sorts of things. But somehow nobody got seriously hurt. I was wondering how that could work, though.

There was this one crazy(ish) old guy who was dying and wanted me to read something he had written. Then he died, and I was sad.

There was this place at the edge of the universe that a scientist had been trying to 'crack', and he finally did. On the other side where these white cubes repeating forever in every direction, like the 3-D maze. I was checking it out, and a few guys went with me, but they were just goofing off. I was marking the floor of the cube I was sitting in to point back to the entrance, because you could so easily get lost in here.

But this place was really neat. You got free energy and free entropy disposal. I figured that we could all move in here and never have another war again.

Then people started moving into the white cube place. When they had to get rid of their garbage, they would open up a crack between two rows of the cubes somehow and pour the garbage down there. It was the folks from the Yakama misssion trip that were there. I didn't want them screwing around with something they didn't understand, and I was trying to tell them about it, but nobody would listen. I threatened to smash Deb into a wall (she was inside one of those glass snow scene dohickeys at the time) and she still wouldn't listen. And People were always interrupting me.

There were these little rockets that people thought they were going to use to go up between layers of cubes. There was something about they were built by an Englishman but the English refused to use them. I launched a couple off my front porch. The first one went way up somewhere, but the second just did a couple flips and fell back down and I caught it.

There was another dream, but I don't know if it was from the same session or from the one I had later when I fell asleep in the middle of the day.

Anyway, I woke up on the couch. I had been using Dad's machine to write CDs the night before, since I was putting all my stuff on CDs so I could reorganize my machine. I really should get a larger hard drive. Most of my 13 GB drive will be FAT, so that both Linux and Windows can access it. The 2 GB drive and about 1.8 GB of the big drive will be for Linux. Right now my GUI seems to be WindowMaker. Oh, and Atticus dropped of a CD full of relatively high quality MP3s.
