I had left my driver's license at the car dealership in Antioch. While searching for it I at some point handed all the rest of my stuff to a hobo to watch for a minute, but he immediately pawned it off, which was bad news given that I had accidentally traveled back in time and knew nobody here and had nothing.
I was running across a bunch of anachronistic kayaks that were racked up, some of which had people sitting in them, and people seemed to think that was a bigger problem than that of all my stuff being stolen, so then some police showed up and were being very unhelpful. I did not want to be arrested by them.
Somehow I managed to get hold of a shotgun. It shot clusters of big heavy rocks very slowly. It hit people with just enough energy to knock them back a little bit so that I could get by unmolested. I wasn't sure where I was going, though.
This was after driving Sara's mom to Illinois to buy a car last night and then listening to a bit of Night Watch.
