Tornado dream, highway 14 adventure - 2007-04-01 00:54 - Entry 915 - TOGoS's Journal

I last night dreampt that I was driving around with someone in Madison. It was all messed up though, it resembled Madison not at all, but my house was nearby. Over the hill was coming a tornado. I knew it would come right at us, so the next step was to decide whether to drive away, or go home and prepare. I apparently chose to go home, because next my dad and I were moving things into the basement. And then we watched the tornado come from the window of the green room. The tornado was very large, and as it passed over our house, it got sort of brown hazy outside. No wind, just brown haze. And as the center of the storm reached us, it got darker and darker until we came out into something like the eye of a hurricane. It looked almost like a solid, black dome around our house. The real tornado was in the center of that. It was small and white, and moving around really fast. It didn't seem to do much damage to our house though.

Later, after the tornado had moved on, we were packing stuff into the van in order to drive away, maybe because we thought it would come back. The tornado was touching down somewhere else now, but there was a horizontal section of the funnel cloud which still passed right over our house.

Later I was at Chili's with YC and AA and maybe Fizz or A-Day. It was boring there.

And before all that, I had been walking around in the woods behind some fences behind the dorms at night. I think we wanted to get back before it rained. Maybe this was supposed to be Whitewater again. I don't know why I've been dreaming about that place so often lately. I understand that the campuses there and in Platteville are a bit twinnish.

Today AA and YC and I went driving out on Mineral Point and highway 14 and ended up somewhere near Spring Green. We got out and took a walk around this woodsy, swampy area with a lot of moss and fungus. I think there used to not be so much water there, since the lake looked full of half-submerged trees. It was an interesting place. On the way home we stopped at Chili's because I got a 25$ gift card for it from work.

And then YC and I went to see Blood Diamond and Casino Royale, which she had already seen both of but I had seen neither. They were both OK.
