I was visiting YC, and we were in some city in China doing something for her work. There were mountains north of the city, and skyscrapers in the middle, and then there was this ridiculously large, rectangular tower on stilts that totally dwarfed all the other skyscrapers, being closer to the height of the mountains. The bottom of the building started just below the tops of the 2 highest regular-scale towers, and when standing inside, you could see a funny area between 2 floors of one of them where it was all white and griddy, like a visual glitch you might see in Doom.

I was at some kind of dinner party with YC's boss and a bunch of other people. Apparently I hadn't dressed right, but someone gave me a bunch of clothes. While I tried to figure out how to put them on, the boss yelled at me. At one point I said something back to him that he couldn't really argue with, so he just kind of gave me a mean look for a while.

Later I learned that the big huge building wasn't solid, but was made out of slabs on the sides and diagonal slabs inside. The habitable area was all inside the slabs, which were about as thick as a regular skyscraper.
