In one dream, I was really desperate for a job, and was considering asking John Samuelson if Earthling had any use for me. It seemed like a bad idea, because you don't want to look for a job when you're desperate. You want to do it before you're desperate.
Maybe I should say hi to John.
Just before waking up I was dreaming about a scene in what seemed like my parents' basement. There was a doorway on the west side of the playroom into an unfinished part that was simultaneously uninteresting, as if that's just where the work room was, and vast. Marilla may have been with me, or someone to whom I was pointing out gobs of spider webs between the joists just past that doorway.
This was mixed with stuff about Descent 2, which more resembled other Descent-based dreams than it did actual Descent 2. It was as if someone was talking to me about the game as I watched the intro scene, which was of some colorful office building. They were describing it as "quite scary", and saying that sometimes people like having that feeling.
The game started by falling very far down into this huge cavern cris-crossed by various structures. The premise was that then you had to find your way out, but via a more convoluted route than you came in, maybe because you didn't have your ship and therefore couldn't just fly straight(ish) back up.
The cavern seemed to be what was further into the work room.
I discovered that I had a second paper lamp, like the one that, in real life, I recently relocated in my office, put a Phillips Hue smart bulb into, and have been having Home Assistant turn on at 8AM every day. I was hanging it in front of that doorway, trying different ways of attaching it to the ceiling or something. This part was actually fairly realistic in that I seemed to be hyperfocusing on little details to avoid some other activity.
