ConfigScript, tunnel diggers dream, rats dream - 2004-01-26 - Entry 423 - TOGoS's Journal

It's 6:45. I tried to sleep, but it wasn't really working so I figured I'd fill in the last couple nights of dreams that I had.

The night before last, I had a dream in which I came home and my rats were all there. I worried about how they had managed to survive all that time without me taking care of them, but their water bottle was full to the top so I guess Ma had been taking care of them. I vaguely remembered having asked her to do that. But they were all real big, too. And seemed pretty healthy. I felt bad about forgetting them, though, so was taking them out and playing with them a lot.

I've had a lot of dreams like this, where I find out my pets that I thought were long dead are still alive. It's creepy. And makes me feel bad about the last rat I had. I almost forget that I had 4 rats, not just 3. Missy was the last one, and was about a year and a half younger than the others.

Anyway, in another part of that dream session, I was watching this weird, new cable channel on which you could watch any TC show ever made. I started out by watching some old shows from the 1940s. And it was Christmas, and I was sitting in the living room opening all my presents, then I realized nobody else had started opening theirs, so I stopped. And felt bad that I had already opened a bunch of mine. There seemed to be articles on Slashdot for each episode of each show ever made. Which I thought was pretty weird.

LOL. 'TOGoS - Will I' is playing. I remember it from that other dream.

Last night I had a dream that I was working with some guys building/repairing a railroad track that went under a bridge or through a tunnel or something. I guess it had been damaged, somehow, and this bridge (well, it was just stacked ties, but it served as a bridge) that went across this muddy area had to be rebuilt. So we were working on that. Then one guy was prying apart some big rocks against one wall, and I knew that they were going to fall down and wreck the new bridge and some of the other workers would fall into the pit and die in the mud. So I tried to make him stop, and when he wouldn't listen I tried to get the other workers to get out of the way, but none of them would listen. Then it caved in and I was the only one in the tunnel that survived. It left a big pit between me and the outside, so the people out there had to put a ladder across for me. Except instead they dragged the whole, huge rock thing that I was on through the pit, and it must have crushed the guys that fallen in.

ConfigScript3/GenScript3 is coming along, well. Although I've run into a few parrot limitations, and will need to wait for those to be sorted out: the foldup op doesn't work, PerlArray[PerlInt] doesn't work, I don't know what the status of objects is. But I still have a few things I can do. Make non-object local variables declarable, for instance. And make classes, packages, and the ':' operator work.

I want to write that tracker someday.

Maybe I'll try sleeping again after Mulker 4 is done.
