2006-05-25 21:24 - Entry 788 - TOGoS's Journal

New scheme for journaling: take advantage of LJ's 'tags'. Entries shall from now on have a 'tags' header. I also must teach Doke.rb to send this info to LJ upon posting.

Note to self: this discussion seems to indicate sending a comma-separated list of tags as 'prop_taglist'

I dreamt last night about having to go up into this tall, tall building for an interview. On top of that building were 4 big steel beams, and halfway up those beams started another section of the building. It looked incredibly flimsy, and went way too high. I didn't want to work in an office up there. It reminded me a bit of this dream

Then I was in Platteville. Campus was more spread out and hilly, with more trees and fewer buildings. At the far end from where I was at the beginning of the dream, there was the beast, the 'school building' (it looked a bit like part of Memorial on the inside), and the really really tall building from earlier. As I drove over there the tall building collapsed and crashed all over the school. It looked like a lot of people died there. So the next time I ran to the school building as fast as I could and yelled to everyone to get out because the building was about to fall on us. Some of them believed me, but some didn't. I ran out, looking up to see if the building was falling on us yet. I got out before it did. One guy was trying to show me how it couldn't possibly fall on us, doing some calculation to show that the maximum distance something on the top of the building could move horizontally was bearly touching the nearest point of the school building. Of course I knew that was wrong because I had seen it happen differently.

Then I was hanging around with Fizz and the Bens and A-Day not doing anything because I had somehow gotten it into my head that I was done with finals after I had taken 2 of them. Upon further thought I remembered that I was to have 4 exams on 4 consecutive days. Today's exam was for DiffEq (I took DiffEq last semester, and for some reason I was taking the final a semester later), and tomorrow's exam was some stupid thing that I had to go to another town for. I wasn't looking forward to going on a trip or to talking to Haertzen about how to make up the exam.

I used wanting to clean up and re-arrange my ropom as an opportunity to play with SketchUp. Here's the plan, and again because x-ray mode looks so cool:

In reality, all those shelves will be full of junk.

Right now I'm cutting down to one small (covering about a 6th of a square yard) section of my room devoted to 'water bottles kept for sentimental value'. There's the Treinen Farms water bottle I won after going through the dragon (the last time we went we just got dumb popcorn), all my sobe bottles (not really sentimental, I just think they're nice bottles to drink cold water out of), the Pepsi Blue bottles (that I got during an outing during that Kentucky trip), and a bottle the same size as the Pepsi Blue bottles but with a yellow lid and a 'Karma Sutra - Prana' sticker on the side. There's also a couple glass 'orbitz' bottles. I think Jon gave them to me. They sort of remind me of something but I'm not sure what. Maybe 2000 when I was working at Woodmans.

Nevermind. Most of those bottles smell or taste awful and I'm recycling them, too.
