Stoplight fruitcakes - 2007-02-21 15:50 - Entry 900 - TOGoS's Journal

On Tuesday morning I had a dream that I was playing Guardian Legend. I was at the boss with the giant red head full of eyes. I was lobbing grenades at him in a really awesome manner. And then when I beat him, something strange happened. It was as if the game was so impressed with the way I had thrown my grenades that it sent me to a special area that I had never seen before. There was a room that had seemed to be a tribute to Legacy of the Wizard. It had some text in it about that and blocks that looked like they were from that game.

Outside, the walls resembled a forest of giant yellow fingers.

I had just been out driving with John, and I came home and then went back outside again because there was something interesting about the sky that everyone was going out to see. I was trying to tell the people I was with (my folks and the Waltons, I guess) about the secret area I had just reachec in TGL.

And this morning I dreampt that every day after work I'd bike a bit out of the way to a company I had worked at for a day once. That one day I had spent mostly trying to keep people's laptops working (that's what I remembered of it, anyway), and at the end I had told them "I don't think this job is for me". For some reason I still left my coat there every morning, so I'd have to stop by on the way home to pick it up.

Under the beltline on Whitney Way there was a building resembling a toll booth. There was one on each side and one in the middle. They sold fruitcakes to drivers waiting at the stop light. And they'd make them right there, as you ordered. Earlier I had been walking up Mineral Point towards Oakwood and I learned of a Deftones concert that was about to start nearby. It might be cool, I figured, but I didn't want to blow a bunch of money on a concert when I didn't even know if I'd see anyone I knew there.

I think I'm going to play around with this Flex thing a bit. It seems like it might be a good system to use for PictureArchiver or a StoneDecoder rewrite.

Heck, StoneDecoder is working alright as it is. I shouldn't go rewriting it until I run out of other things to do. But in the meantime I can at least clean up how file paths are specified (make them less implicit).

I guess I should work on S33d4r some more, since I told Frodo I would XE. Not sure what to do with it, though, now that I've tweaked the TreeGenetics algorithms about as far as I feel like I need to. Maybe add flowers. And I should eventually introduce some sort of 'world'...maybe tonight after work.

Cool S33d4r trees...
