Birthhday, Star Trek 10 - 2002-01-10 (Friday, Birthday) - Entry 256 - TOGoS's Journal

I had a dream that I was in my dorm room and my new roommate was there, and so were 2 other guys. I don't know who they were. My roommate was a short, fattish guy with curly blond hair, which was unexpected. I think we were getting along OK. Then there was this thing where I was out in this desert, and there was this mine under the sand. I knew that it was going to collapse, because I had seen it on the History channel, so I was trying to convince the guy in charge to get everybody out. I don't remember how well that worked. But then over to the north (?) an airplane was going to chrash. And soon afterwards it would catch on fire and explode. I was over near where it would crash when it did. But the plane didn't catch on fire; what caught on fire was some oily junk begind this screen (we couldn't see it before because we were on the other side). I started putting out the fire by pushing sand on top of it with my foot. But Russ Feingold came over and he was trying to stop me. He wanted the plane to catch on fire. But eventually I got it out and then people came to see all the dead jewish guys on the smooshed-up plane (it was really gross).

It was my birthday today. I managed to get most of the second Reason CD. I'm also working on the third right now. I was getting a really good bitrate from WhoTha!!! for a minute, but now I'm back to 2.5 kBps (on the third CD. second CD doink .68 or something. Blah.)

I also got TRServer working on me NEW, SUPER-DUPER Windows box. Ma and I were planning to go see the new Star Trek movie (Nemesis). The only ones on were either at Eastgate or really late, so we decided we'd go to the 9:00 one at Star. I called Fizz and invited him to go, too, and he said he'd come over a little before 8:30. That bean soup stuff Ma made a few days ago is MUCH better if it's cooked a while longer. I had cooked mine some more once but then didn't eat it at the time, but I had some tonight, with some bread and cheese, which was good, too. And we had ice cream and grape soda.

I've been downloading more Paul Van Dyk over KaZaA some more, too. That techno stuff is nice... ESPECIALLY when I realized (shortly before Fizz arrived at about 8:15) that I could probably run that MilkDrop program now. So I downloaded it and started it up. Wheee!!!! That's great stuff.

So Fizz came over and I showed off my new computer and we exchanged all the good (and bad; that Adam guy from Melcher droped out because he failed all his classes. That sucks. I hope he finds something else to do) news. And the movie was pretty awesome. We came back and Fizz stayed around a while to watch Ren and Stimpy and SpongeBob SquarePants.

I wrote another little directory-walking program (I should write a library with a nice little Ruby iterator function to do that for me) to build a playlist for WinAmp but only use mp3 and mod files and not include duplicates.

I should go work on the latest newsletter in which I review a bunch of movies. And I still need to back up my data and move the CD-R drive to the windows box. And back up CDs full of drivers and stuff.
